Why don't they just sell them back to the cemetery?
Most cemeteries do not repurchase spaces. They are not in the practice of buying back property from families.
How does this work?
The current lot owners have granted us Limited Power of Attorney allowing us to act as their agent in the sale of their property. All paperwork required by the cemetery has been completed by the current lot owner and notarized. After you sign a purchase contract with CMAS Inc. and your payment has been received in full, we will then manage the transfer through the cemetery. We will pay the cemetery transfer fees and any required care deposits, and submit all required paperwork to be processed through the cemetery office, which will issue a new deed in your name.
